LIGHTS. CAMERA. MAGIC! A Blockbuster Evening Directed By Zynger Events

THE BACKSTORY:

From champagne towers to aerialists, here’s your unscripted look at a day in Hollywood and how my team and I brought star power to the ASAE Annual Meeting fundraising event for the ASAE Research Foundation called “The Classic”.

FADE IN:  EXT. DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES – SUNSET

The red carpet unfurls outside The Novo, a swanky nightclub that leads to the Grammy Museum. Outside the doors, paparazzi jostle for the best angle. A living red gown flows seamlessly into the carpet itself — the first touch of Hollywood magic as a model wearing a flowing gown so long that it is literally the carpet that transports guests inside. INT. THE NOVO: NIGHT

As the doors open right on cue, 1,000 VIP guests rush inside only to stop in their tracks. The sound of a collective inhale can be heard. The space has been transformed. Gold chandeliers glitter overhead. White fabric lounges accented with bright red & gold invite guests to stay awhile. A long bar offers signature cocktails. Gourmet food provided by Wolfgang Puck, caterer to the stars and the Oscars, is laid out banquet style before the guests. On stage, the Hollywood sign glows above the proceedings. Microphones are set, foreshadowing the entertainment about to happen. Every detail says, “Hollywood glamour.”

PLOT TWIST

Quietly, entertainers have been joining the guests. Suddenly, there are pop-up moments happening throughout. Tap dancers burst into motion, models-turned-“fans” ask guests for autographs, and an aerialist floats above the crowd.

A VIP area is set aside for donors & sponsors, where Madame Tussauds has lent a Ryan Gosling wax figure, a high-end glamour photobooth and private VIP seating areas.

CUT TO: INT. THE GRAMMY MUSEUM

Akin to the Oscars Green Room this is a space where the VIP guests of the event are moved to kibbitz and relax. They enjoy a variety of fancy eclairs. Oversized florals glow with art deco flair. Another 1,300 guests enter into The Novo, spilling between both spaces a sold-out evening of 2,300 guests.

In the main room at the museum, a performer rises elegantly from a champagne glass, bubbles cascading as champagne towers wait to be poured. With glass in hand, guests can experience an evening of magic at the museum.

Around every corner, the attention to detail is evident:

• Signature cocktails, staged entrances, and curated photo ops.

• Classic moments are expertly interspersed with modern spectacle.

• Aerialists, champagne towers and custom engraving.

CUT TO: THE DESSERTS

On the Ray Charles Terrace, the city lights flicker below. A champagne tower rises high, crystal flutes catching the glow as bottle after bottle of French bubbly cascades down. Nearby, an engraver works with the precision of an Oscar night artisan. But instead of statuettes, he etches guests’ names onto sleek leather luggage tags assuring their moment of glory travels with them. Whimsy meets practicality.

FADE IN:  THE FINALE

At the stroke of midnight (really 9:00 pm), the waitstaff and performers take a bow before the Hollywood sign on stage. LED screens roll the credits — honoring vendors, staff, and the team behind this blockbuster evening.

FADE OUT

As guests leave the event, the director and one of his glittering co-stars take one last bow. We would like to thank our event partners for this event; it was a pleasure to produce and one that will go down in the books!
