16 Jun 3 Guidelines to Choosing Music for Your Event:
Carefully crafted music selection can help set the mood and pace of your event. When done right, the music invites your guests to enjoy themselves and fully embrace your event . When carelessly put together, the music can hurt the event’s intentions and encourage guests to leave early. In order to avoid the latter, below are some helpful tips we, at Zynger Events, like to keep in mind when tasked to build a musical playlist for the evening:
- Audience—Keep in mind who the music is for and always ask yourself if the audience will enjoy the music. Picture yourself as an audience member and try to envision how the music will feel to you. Will it be easy listening? Will it make me want to cover my ears? Or will it help lift my mood and allow me to embrace the event?
- Theme—All too often there is usually an agenda, goal, or concept for the event and you want to make sure the music accompanying helps set the mood. If the event is about honoring a guest, does your music bring a warm and celebratory atmosphere?
- Your Own Taste—Remember to have fun with curating music and put your own taste into the playlist. When we infuse the music curation with our own personality we give it more life which will help to connect with listeners.
